2022 presidential elections
Estimates at 8 p.m. of the results of the first round of the 2022 presidential elections according to Ipsos-Sopra-Steria are unveiled. The poll figures were confirmed with Emmanuel Macron (LREM) in first place followed by Marine Le Pen (RN).
The estimates of 20h of the first round of the presidential elections on April 10, 2022 have just fallen.
After an extraordinary end of the first round campaign for the Fifth Republic with the Covid-19 crisis and the war in Ukraine, voting intentions have drawn a scenario identical to that of 2017, with Emmanuel Macron and then the RN candidate Marine Le Pen qualified for the second round.
According to the first figures, abstention would amount to 26.2%, higher than in 2017 but less than in 2002. (2022 presidential elections)
By stoking the surge in energy and food prices, the conflict has further underlined the urgency of providing answers to the French on their purchasing power, the first of their concerns.
It is in this context that Emmanuel Macron, who formalized his entry into the campaign on March 3, won the election in the first round with 28.1%..
The leader of the National Rally won 23.3%. In the previous presidential elections in 2017, the leader of the LREM movement won with 24.01% of the vote, while the daughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen reached second place with 21.3%.

France Insoumise and its boss Jean-Luc Mélenchon are in third place and collect 20.3%. In 2017, the party won 19.58% of the vote, finding itself in 4th position just behind that of François Fillon.
A novice in the world of politics, whom he knew very well as a journalist, columnist and essayist, Eric Zemmour is in 4th place with 7.2% of the vote.
If he had made a remarkable entry on the electoral scene at the end of 2021 with his Reconquest movement, his rating has continued to decline since the entry into the war in Ukraine in February.
The representative of the Republicans Valérie Pécresse suffers a humiliation by passing under the symbolic bar of 5% and Anne Hidalgo confirmed the collapse of the PS with 2.1%, surpassed by the Greens and its leader Yannick Jadot with 4.4%.
