5 Brazilian games to check out in 2024

Brazil is among the 10 largest consumers of video games in the world, a gigantic market with millions of passionate gamers. However, for a long time, the country was unable to replicate this success in game development. Whether due to lack of investment or the absence of a robust industry, Brazil lagged behind in the global game creation scene.

But fortunately, this reality has changed significantly in recent years. Several independent studios and Brazilian developers have gained ground, producing creative and innovative games that have attracted attention even outside the country.

This transformation in the game development scene in Brazil is the result of the collective effort of many talented professionals. Today, we have studios that stand out in different genres and platforms, proving that there is a lot of creative potential here. With this in mind, we decided to list five promising Brazilian games to keep an eye on in 2024, showing that Brazil has everything it needs to consolidate itself as a powerhouse in game development.

1 – Cyberwar: Neon City

Developed by Cyber ​​Monkey Studios, the Cyberwar Neon City is a shooter with roguelike elements with procedural and randomly generated sentences. As of this writing, we only had the opportunity to play a demo, but from the little we saw, we can see that the title will be very promising, being a challenging experience, with incredible bosses and very cool pixel art.

2 – Roadout

Mixing Zelda, MaxMax and Rock and Roll Racing, Roadout is developed by enthusiasts from Rastrolabs Game Studios, in Fortaleza, Ceará. This is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game that mixes dungeon exploration and racing mechanics. It looks very promising and shows the creativity of Brazilian games.

3 – Top Racer Collection

Taking advantage of the popularity that Top Gear has here in Brazil, QUByte Interactive decided to launch the Top Racer Collection, with the three games released for the Super Nintendo, and also the new Top Racer Crossroadswith new cars and exclusive content. Great for reliving childhood memories, and also for having a new Top Gear experience.

4 – Deathbound

Launched in August this year, the Deathbound is a soulslike developed by Trialforge Studio that stands out for exploring a relatively controversial theme: religious fanaticism. Despite some technical problems such as bugs, the balance is positive and definitely proves that Trialforge Studio is talented and it's really cool to know that we have Brazilian games of this level.

5 – Frog

Developed by Wired Dreams Studios, the Frog is a mix of styles such as roguelike, bullet hell and turn-based combat on procedurally generated maps, being a very innovative adventure that shows the creativity of Brazilian games. In it, we control Kene Legstrong, a warrior frog, on a mission to stop a cursed castle from bringing darkness to the world. Very addictive and easy to understand, Frog is worth checking out.
