7 technology trends from CES 2025

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) ended its 2025 edition this Friday and signals the future of technology. What remains for the market? The answer is in three words: applied artificial intelligence.

Here are 7 trends to keep an eye on from CES 2025:

1. COSMOS SYSTEM

One of the main highlights of the fair was the presentation by Jensen Huang, founder of Nvidia. In front of six thousand people in Las Vegas, he presented a bold vision for the future of artificial intelligence in a 90-minute speech.

In addition to the chips that process AI, Nvidia surprised us by presenting software. The Cosmos. “We are teaching artificial intelligence to understand the real world,” Huang said. With an eye on the era of AI agents, Cosmos is a set of artificial intelligence models that replicate the physical world.

Huang explained that the AI ​​models were trained with 20 million hours of real footage of humans performing everyday actions – walking, moving their hands, manipulating objects. “It’s not about creating art,” he highlighted. “It's about teaching AI to understand the physical world.”

The system promises to be the underlying technology that will accelerate robotics. Robotics makers and car manufacturers could use Cosmos to intelligently handle real-time situations, from navigating uneven or disorganized environments to unexpected obstacles.

2. GO TO EVERYONE

Another highlight of Nvidia's talk was the Digits project, a personal supercomputer equipped with AI. It's an “AI workstation” aimed at AI researchers and developers, who will use it to prototype and fine-tune models.

The launch highlights the trend of accessible AI for companies and professionals, which could change the market as a whole. According to Accenture's Technology Vision 2025 report, presented at CES 2025, we are entering an era shaped by the widespread use of AI and an “AI brain.”

“It will bring almost unlimited possibilities for innovation and growth, but it will also challenge the way companies think about trust,” says the document.

3. SMALLER AND MORE POWERFUL

AI agents, in turn, appeared at CES 2025, making devices smaller and more precise. That's because artificial intelligence is moving out of data centers as computer makers incorporate the technology into laptops, robots, cars and other devices closer to home.

One of the devices that won the Innovation Awards at CES 2025 was the Air Way Minia mini camera capable of carrying out an X-ray examination. It is only possible for technology like this to work because of AI systems that analyze data.

Furthermore, AI appeared to evolve devices that are known in the world of technology, such as smart rings and smart glasses.

More than a dozen companies were launching smart rings at the technology fair, including category creator and leader Oura and Samsung. With the most refined technology, the devices track health metrics such as sleep, activity, stress and heart health. One of the smart-rings, the Galaxy Ring, promises to connect people with devices in the house.

The smart glasses presented at CES 2025, in turn, turned out to be smaller than those currently seen on the market. And with systems that change the way information is presented to the user, in a fluid experience.

The technology presented by Halliday, for example, presents a system that places information on the glasses screen, without disturbing the field of vision. The company's glasses are equipped with integrated microphones and proactive AI, Halliday smart glasses are capable of capturing conversations, translating languages ​​and presenting “subtitles” to the user.

4. COLLABORATION IS THE ORDER WORD

CES 2025 was marked by a collaboration agreement between large technology companies and giants from another sector, such as the automobile sector. Nvidia announced a partnership with Toyota to create an autonomous electric car. The company will use Cosmos to train the vehicles.

Honda and Sony launched the Afeela 1, an electric car that should compete with Tesla products in the United States. Samsung announced a partnership with Microsoft to bring co-pilot to televisions. A way to incorporate AI into everyday devices.

Delta announced partnerships with Uber and YouTube, to connect with mileage systems and offer in-flight entertainment – respectively. The message is: alone, technology companies cannot innovate as much as they need.

5. DIGITAL SIXTH SENSE

Technology played with the senses at CES 2025. And it showed that digital has the power not only to capture the physical world, but also to change it. Sony has introduced a new system that allows PlayStation players to explore titles like The Last of Us using their sense of smell.

Asus launched a mouse with space to place fragrances. Kirin presented a spoon that “salts” food without the need for salt. The device uses electrical fields to concentrate sodium on the tongue and then make the food taste saltier.

Another device, which won the CES 2025 innovation award, was the exoskeleton of Hypershell. The device combines advanced robotics and AI to assist movements with up to 800W of assistive power. Its lightweight ergonomic design and motion sensing technology make it comfortable and efficient to use.

6. TECHNOLOGY FOR LONGEVITY AND WELL-BEING

Health-focused innovation also gained momentum at CES 2025, with devices like the Whitings smart mirror, which scans the entire body and displays health information. The device has an AI assistant that synthesizes the analyzed data into advice.

Another device, the Hormometer, from Eli Health, performs instant hormonal monitoring using saliva. Also in the field of women's health is Irish startup IdentifyHer's Peri wearable device, which tracks perimenopause symptoms across the skin's surface, providing personalized insights and more comprehensive understanding for people going through this specific stage of life, which was described as “puberty in reverse”.

L'Oreal showed CellBio Print, which analyzes the skin in minutes using nanotechnology. The system calculates the age of the skin and gives indications of what the user can do to make it healthier.

Each of these technologies is part of a trend to support the aging population and the well-being of the body, through preventive and less invasive health systems.

7. EVERYTHING IS SCREEN

In the city of Sphere, CES 2025 also showed that there is room for hyper-realistic screens in everyday life. Samsung introduced new transparent LED screen models, which transform the image into 3D without the need for glasses. The image of a shark hitting the flexible screen is impressive. The Premiere 5 short-throw projector, also from the South Korean company, transforms any surface on which the user projects into a touch screen.

Meanwhile, Dutch company Nuwa is showing off its Nuwa Pen, which writes like a regular ink pen but has three sensors near the point to register writing. In practice, the user can use any surface to record writing, the handwritten text is synchronized with an application, which uses AI to transcribe the text and even translate and summarize.
