Blink-182 ends the first night of Lollapalooza with an insane show

The Lollapalooza festival takes place this weekend (22, 23 and 24 March), at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in São Paulo. Among the main names in this edition are Blink-182, Arcade Fire, Kings Of Leon, Limp Bizkit, Titãs Encontro, Sam Smith and SZA. Californians Blink-182 were responsible for closing the first night of the festival with a powerful show full of hits.

First show in Brazil

Blink-182's debut was expected by all their fans, as this is the band's first time in Brazil. However, this reunion would happen a year ago, when the show, at the same festival, was cancelled. The reason was that Travis Barker, the drummer, would have surgery on his finger. They were promptly replaced by the duo Twenty One Pilots.

Even with the last cancellation, Lollapalooza insisted on the Californian group and asked them again to participate in the 2024 edition. Although rumors arose that the band would also cancel the show that year, to the delight of their fans, this did not happen.

The show started promptly at 9:30 pm with the band entering the stage to the sound of “Also Sprach Zarathustra“, by German composer Richard Stratus, in the background. Then they amended it with “Anthem Part Two“, from the album “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket“, from 2001. Speaking of which, the show particularly pleased fans who listened to the band at their peak in the years between the 90s and the 2000s.

The group played hits such as “I Miss You“, “First Date“, “All The Small Things” and closed with “Dammit“. All of this was accompanied by a lot of pyrotechnics, including fireworks, explosions on stage, smoke, shredded paper and laser lights. After playing the entire setlist, the Californians returned to the stage for an acoustic version of “One More Time”, song from the album of the same name, released last year.
