Katy Perry releases teaser for new music video in partnership with Thomas Rhett, titled “When We Started”

Last night (16), the singer behind the hit “Teenage Dream” released the teaser for the track “When We Started”, a partnership between Katy Perry and Thomas Rhett. The track is part of Rhett’s sixth studio album, who is a country music singer. The collaboration between the two artists was originally released in March of this year, however the release of the official music video will happen tomorrow (18).

On social media, the world-famous singer announced that the partnership with the country singer will finally get a music video this Tuesday.

“When We Started” is the title track of Thomas Rhett’s sixth studio album and is about a relationship that, on days when things aren’t going well, the person you love remembers where they started in order to see a bright future again. Katy Perry’s lyrics allude to her past, which can be seen in the documentary “Part Of Me”.

The track has a very romantic tone, as the country genre demands, and was already performed live by the two on the stage of American Idol, a reality show in which Perry is a judge alongside Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

“When We Started” is Katy Perry's first release after “When I'm Gone”, a collaboration with DJ and music producer Alesso. The dance track also got a very different video than usual, with the singer in an industrial, futuristic and even post-apocalyptic setting.

The new music video will be released tomorrow at noon on the country singer's YouTube channel. This is the closing track on Thomas Rhett's latest album, and he didn't expect Katy to like the song so much and ended up identifying with the lyrics and participating in the track.
