Abraceo has a new president and new board

Entity was founded during the pandemic and brings together organizers of tests and outdoor events has a change of chairs for the new biennium 2023-2025

The Brazilian Association of Street Racing and Outdoor Sports (Abraceo), founded in March 2020 by organizers of sporting events, has just elected its new board for the 2023-2025 biennium. The entity’s objective is to strengthen and professionalize the sector in the country, in addition to guiding and defending the interests of its affiliates with the competent bodies.

Guilherme CelsoCEO of Chelso Sports, is the new president of Abraceo, succeeding Paulo Carelli, from Iguana Sports, who headed the organization for two years. In addition to Celso, the director and supervisory board were also renewed, with the entry of new members. Humberto Cedraz (Director RG+) will take over as Vice-President and Administrative and Financial Director; Paulo Carelli (COO Iguana Sports) as Director of Institutional Relations; Luciana Silva (CEO Pepper Sports) as Director of Communications and Marketing; james jr (CEO To Goal Sports) as Technical and Project Director; Ricardo Ramalho (CEO RR Sports and Events), as Director of Relations with Affiliates and Events; It is Sylvio Bitencourt (CEO Avatar Sports Marketing) as Director of Government Relations. The supervisory board will be composed of Ivan Murano (Muraro Events), Ricardo Mendes (Apuana) and Vidal (Vida Sport). In addition, the advisory board will have as members William Piazzalunga (Cover Events), Igor Franco Arantes (Bee Sports) and Rafael Coelho (TR Chrono Events).

“The entity was very important for the sector to organize itself, especially when we face the pandemic. With a very strong board of directors and an important number of associates, we are certain that the work is progressing very well”, stated Guilherme Celso, the new President of Abraceo.

Currently, Abraceo has a significant number of associates in several states of the country. The entity aims to boost the development and appreciation of the sector, which is one of the greatest national exponents in health promotion, offering direct and indirect jobs, encouraging tourism and generating income, moving billions of reais annually.

The Brazilian Association of Street Racing and Outdoor Sports began to be structured in March 2020 by sporting event organizers with the aim of strengthening and professionalizing the sector in Brazil. In its first phase, the entity had experienced event organizer Paulo Carelli, from Iguana Sports, as its president and Marcos Pinheiro, from Curitiba, as its vice-president.

With many obstacles ahead, the idea of ​​organizing the sector got off the ground and gained momentum in the first few months with the entry of affiliates and the composition of a solid board, made up of organizers from different regions of Brazil. In the midst of the pandemic, the objective was to strengthen and professionalize the sector in Brazil, guiding and defending the interests of its affiliates with the competent bodies. Abraceo played a fundamental role in the preparation of documents that helped the resumption of sporting events across the country, including carrying out test-events such as the Protocol Verification Race, Volta SP 10K, Volta CWB, among others.

“Building the entity was something very well planned and carried out by extremely competent people. We managed to assemble a strong board, with representation in all regions of the country. This composition showed the organizers themselves, who later became affiliates, that a new entity that would fight for the interests of the sector. After this period, the time has come to renew our leadership, aware that we did a great job in the construction of this first stage”, comments Paulo Carelli.
