After 40 years, Boninho announces departure from Rede Globo
On the afternoon of this Friday (13), Boninho used his social networks to announce his departure from Rede Globo. The director, who was responsible for developing major programs, in addition to creating reality shows such as “Big Brother Brasil” and “No Limite”, published a text on his official account giving more details about the end of his partnership with the broadcaster.
”It's time to fly solo. After 40 years at TV Globo, I decided to follow other paths. I confess that the plan was to retire from this company that is part of who I am and a great supporter of my passion. But at 62 years old, it is exactly the passion I have, which is stronger than ever, that motivated me to take on the new challenges that have arisen. I'm still crazy about doing television and excited about the possibilities that lie in my future. So, even though I had a loving proposal from Globo to continue together, I decided to move on to new directions, with challenges that the position I was in didn't always allow me to take. A decision that Globo welcomed kindly, as has always been our relationship. Ah, TV Globo, I love you so much. Continue to be this powerhouse of talent, courage, innovation, success”, wrote Boninho in one of the excerpts.
The director also revealed that he is excited about the possibilities that could happen to him and that the person who will take on the next projects will be Rodrigo Dourado.

Pronouncement
In an official statement, the broadcaster informed that Rodrigo Dourado, artistic director, will take charge of the realities produced on TV Globo.
Marinho's broadcaster reinforced that it tried to maintain a new partnership with the director, however, Boninho chose to continue acting as a creator, but now independently. Boninho was one of those largely responsible for bringing the biggest reality show in history to Brazil, in addition to working directly in the development of frames and different formats on TV Globo.
Trajectory
José Bonifácio Brasil de Oliveira, known as Boninho, or popularly nicknamed and known as 'Big Boss', made his debut on the network in 1984 with the program 'Clip Clip'. Soon after, he took on projects linked to the music sector, such as clips for Fantástico and even broadcasting huge festivals and shows such as Rolling Stones, Rock in Rio and the traditional Show da Virada.
Boninho was also responsible for creating the reality show “Big Brother Brasil”, as well as the electrifying “No Limite” and “Hipertension”.
