Alec Baldwin reveals how it feels to return to the film set after fatal accident: 'It's strange to be back'

In a video posted on his Instagram this Tuesday (8), actor Alec Baldwin spoke for the first time about being back at work, just over three months after the accident that caused the death of Halyna Hutchins.

In the video, Baldwin is lying in bed at the hotel where he is staying for the filming of a new project, which was not specified by the actor. He begins by saying that he intended to keep a small diary while he was traveling for work. “We had our first day today, which is always intense. I haven't been working as much as I used to. It's weird being back at work. I haven't worked since October 21st of last year, when this horrible thing happened on the set of a movie, with the death of our director of photography Halyna Hutchins.“, he said.

“It's still hard to talk”, he stated in the video. “I went back to work today after three and a half months. Movies are almost always the same. Everyone is younger than me. Especially in independent films, with really good people. I miss my kids, my Carmen, she's so funny. All my kids are unique. I can't get over the quirks of each one, very different, my kids are very different.”.

The actor ended the video by saying: “I'll be here for a few more days, then who knows what the future will bring? I'm going home and seeing my little ones, as well as my big one, even though she's not big, not big at all. She's small. See you tomorrow.”.

The case

The fatal accident involving cinematographer Halyna Hutchins happened on October 21, 2021, on the set of the film 'Rust'. Alec Baldwin was responsible for accidentally firing a prop gun that was not supposed to be loaded, which ended up hitting Halyna.

The case is still under investigation in the state of New Mexico. The gunsmith and the film's assistant director are accused of loading the gun and handing it to the actor without warning him.
