Ambev will have a new president in 2025

Ambev announced on Tuesday (27) that the beverage manufacturer will have a new president. Carlos Lisboa, a business administrator, will take over as president in 2025, replacing Jean Jereissati.

Lisboa holds the position of president of the Midle Americas Zone (MAZ) at Anheuser-Busch InBev, the parent company of Ambev, and is a member of the company's board of directors. Carlos has been part of the MAZ team since 1993, holding various leadership positions in the areas of sales and marketing,

In return, Jereissati, Ambev's CEO since 2019, will replace Lisboa in the Midle Americas Zone.

During a conference call with analysts held in early August, Jereisatti discussed Ambev's second-quarter results. Although the company saw a sharp drop in sales volumes in Brazil, the months of June and July showed a recovery in sales.

According to analysts Leonardo Alencar, Pedro Fonseca and Samuel Isaak, from Expert XP “The average tenure of Ambev’s CEO is 5 years and the group has always sought to find space for high-performance executives to continue developing their careers.”

Career of the new president of Ambev

Carlos Eduardo Lisboa previously served as vice president of marketing at Ambev between 2005 and 2011; CEO of Labatt between 2013 and 2014; at AB InBev Global Brands, Lisboa held the position of vice president in 2014 and 2016; he was also president of Latin America South at Ambev from 2016 to 2018, finally reaching the position of president of MAZ, which he has held since January 2019.

Ambev shares fall after announcement

On Wednesday (28), the company's shares fell. The company closed trading at 0.61%, at R$12.95.

Analysts say the time has come for Ambev to prove whether it still has pricing power in a competitive environment, given that consumer preferences have changed drastically. For BTG, with Lisboa as CEO, the company should not undergo major changes in facing these challenges.
