American football legend Brady postpones retirement

American football legend Tom Brady postpones the end of his career by a year. The quarterback announced on Sunday that he will return and play again for his club Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

In February he had just announced that he was putting an end to his illustrious career.

“Over the past two months I have realized that my place is still on the pitch and not in the stands. That time will come someday, but not yet. I love my teammates and I love my family who support me.

They make it all possible. I’ll be back to Tampa for my 23rd season. Unfinished business LFG,” he wrote on Twitter. ‘LFG’ stands for: let’s freaking go .

The 44-year-old seven-time Super Bowl winner said in February that he was quitting to focus on his family and his health. Brady called his decision a difficult one at the time.

“I feel that I can no longer be 100 percent competitive,” he said at the time. “I’ve enjoyed my NFL career and now it’s time to focus my time and energy on other things that need my attention.”

Brady is considered the best quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) ever. He helped New England Patriots win the Super Bowl six times and led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the championship last year.

Last season Brady showed that even at the age of 44 he still belongs to the absolute top. 

He had the most touchdown passes of any quarterback, and the superstar also topped the passing yards standings .

Tampa Bay Buccaneers were eliminated in the playoffs by the later finalist Los Angeles Rams. The match was decided in the final second.
