Anitta and Virginia Fonseca reach 1 million followers on new social network launched in Brazil
Singer Anitta, 30, and digital influencer Virginia Fonseca, 24, are among the celebrities who reached one million followers on the new social network launched this Wednesday (5) in Brazil. The new social network, from the company meta, owner of Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, is now betting on the Threads platform, which was created to compete directly with Twitter. Also aimed at sharing photos, videos and texts, it is now available on the web and on cell phones.
Soon after the news was released, several celebrities made a point of publicizing their profiles on their own social networks, hoping to gain more followers there. So far, Anitta, who created her account on the first day the social network was activated, has confessed to her fans that she is still learning how to use the platform. With this, she was the first to surpass the first million, reaching 1.9 million followers, while Virginia Fonseca is close behind, with 1.7 million followers. In third place is Juliette, followed by football player Ronaldinho Gaúcho, who is also among the many celebrities with a profile created.

The application, available since 8pm this Wednesday (5), also attracted other famous names, such as Ivete Sangalo, Marina Ruy Barbosa, Marcos Mion, Léo Santana and Preta Gil, who also created their profiles on the new social network. In addition to the artists, several anonymous Brazilians also created their profiles in less than 24 hours, making Threads a topic on the web.
However, the platform divides the opinions of internet users, not pleasing everyone, who are already used to liking and sharing not-so-short texts. Some comments on social media make it clear that some people choose to continue on Twitter because they don't see much of a difference between the tools, thus opting to remain on Elon Musk's platform.
