Anitta competes with samba-enredo for Carnival 2025

After making history in a parade that celebrated the 40th anniversary of Marques de Sapucaí, the most famous samba catwalk in the world, Anitta intends to return to the same place with everything. That's because the singer is one of the composers of a samba-enredo about the orixá Logunedé.

It is worth remembering that Anitta recently released the music video for the song “Aceita”, which celebrates Logunedé, who is the singer's main orixá. The artist had already spoken about her religion in the 2020 Netflix documentary “Made In Honório”, and said she attributes characteristics of her personality to him.

In the music video, the singer shares images in the terreiro alongside her brother, Renan Machado, who is also her holy father, as well as her blood father, Mauro Machado. Wearing white clothes, she appears practicing her faith.

The images, however, had a negative impact on her social media. Anitta even revealed that she lost more than 200 thousand followers on Instagram after sharing the photo album on social media. She responded to the incident, mentioning how she is living this new phase in her career. “Laroyê Exu removing from my path everything that no longer serves me” wrote the singer. “In this new phase of mine I chose quality over quantity”he said.

Anitta's samba theme

Even with all the repercussions, whether positive or negative, Anitta helped write a samba-enredo with the synopsis: “Logun-Edé: Holy Child Who Respects Old Men”who will compete for Unidos da Tijuca in the 2025 Carnival. The school's parade will worship the Orixá of Yoruba origin, considered the lord of rivers and ravines. He is the son of Oxum and Oxóssi, and is worshipped in religions of Afro-diasporic origin, as well as in Brazilian Candomblé.

The singer composed the samba-enredo in partnership with the pagodeiro Feyjão, the director and screenwriter Estêvão Ciavatta, the architect and writer Miguel Pinto Guimarães, the composer Fred Camacho and the interpreter Diego Nicolau.

“We called her and she soon agreed to compose with us. We had some meetings to compose, and we composed the samba together. We are already in the process of recording the samba to present to Unidos da Tijuca.”, said Feyjão in an interview with Gshow.

The competition for the samba-enredo begins on August 1st and the final result will be announced at the school's warehouse on Saturday, September 21st.
