Anitta Has High Expectations for Grammys in Two Weeks

It was Tuesday, November 15, 2022, when singer Anitta received the news that she would be nominated for the 2023 Grammy. Inside a car, in the United States, the artist learned that she would be competing for the most coveted award in the music industry as a new artist. Now, shortly after the big news, Anitta tries not to focus all her thoughts on the award and to remain calm. Present in Brasília, this Saturday (21), she took some time to talk to the press and talk about the big day.

“I haven't thought about it. I think I leave these things to think about only during the week. If it doesn't bring too much pressure, stress and anxiety (…). I like to live in the moment, so I'm here in Brasilia, I'm thinking about Brasilia.”, he told the website Tracklist.

When asked whether she would attend the awards ceremony or not, the singer did not hesitate to answer: “Oh, of course, right!”

For some time now, Anitta has been focused and successful in trying to build an international career, and the Grammy nomination was just concrete confirmation of that.

While passing through the capital, the singer spoke about the importance of taking Brazil's name to the world.

“We have to know what we are doing, how we are working, communicating, and understand the importance of all the things we do. Not only here, but also as a correspondent.”, opened.

With her Grammy nomination, the singer cements her name in music history, becoming the second Brazilian woman nominated in the best new artist category. The first was Astrud Gilberto, in 1965.

Anitta competes for the trophy with Domi & JD Beck, Latto, Måneskin, Molly Tuttle, Muni Long, Omar Apollo, Samara Joy, Tobe Nwigwe and Wet Leg.

The 65th Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on February 5th at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The event will begin at 9pm and will be broadcast on TNT in Brazil.
