Anitta surprises by revealing the release of a funk album with more than 60 tracks in 2024

According to the PapelPop portal, Anitta will release, in addition to the “Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story” package, an album full of funk songs in 2024. The singer also stated that she already has more than 60 tracks for the album.

“Now, we are choosing between all these songs because there are so many and they are good”said Anitta at a press conference on Friday (18).

According to Anitta, the album will feature the tracks “Funk Rave”, “Casi Casi” and “Used To Be”, as well as traveling between different types of funk, such as “heavy funk” and one closer to pop.

Funk around the world

As Girl From Rio's plan is to introduce Brazilian music to the international scene, the new album contains not only songs in Portuguese, but also in Spanish and English. However, according to Anitta, both the different languages ​​and the musical genre can become challenges.

The singer explains that, in Brazil, the difficulty lies in other languages, as the Brazilian population prefers music in Portuguese. While in the rest of the world, the difficulty lies in introducing people to a new style.

“If it were reggaeton, pop or pop rock, you already have playlists with those rhythms. You can insert a song into the context of others. In the case of funk, this isn’t possible, so you lose some of the momentum of having a movement already in place. You don’t join a movement, you create one.”

A Brazilian album, awards and tour

According to Anitta, the new album aims to show her personality, as well as represent the Brazilian favelas and the style in which she began her career, funk. Because of this and because she has done many partnerships recently, the singer of “Envolver” stated that the feats with Sam Smith and Chlöe will be postponed.

“It’s Brazilian funk recorded in the favela, so I thought that, first, we had to show that it’s authentic and mine.”

Even before its release, the album is already a source of pride for the singer, as the song “Funk Rave” – included on the album and in the package “Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story” – is competing for the award for Best Latin Music Video at the VMA – the same category that Anitta won in 2022.

According to PapelPop, in addition to the songs already released and the album for 2024, a possible tour is on the horizon. Although no date has been officially announced, Anitta stated that she would like to perform during the Brazilian summer, more specifically, during Carnival.
