Apex Legends brings the Space Hunt event: A ride

Look, guys, EA and Respawn never stop inventing new things and, this time, they bring us the event Space Huntavailable between September 17 and October 8. If you thought you had seen it all in Apex Legendshere comes another brand new MTL (limited time mode), along with that bunch of shiny cosmetics that will make you rethink whether you really need to pay the electricity bill or if a new skin is more important.

Knockout Mode: Another way to kiss your sanity goodbye

The big draw this time is the MTL Knockoutan objective-based mode that, let me tell you, promises to be chaos disguised as “strategy.” The goal is to capture zones and earn points while the five lowest-scoring teams are eliminated each round. In other words, it’s a never-ending race, and if you’re not 100% into the game, you’re done for. Want a challenge? Great. Want a new way to suffer while trying to coordinate your random team? Here’s the perfect mode!

But of course, Knockout has a little extra spice so it's not just another elimination mode. You'll also win Evo to increase the power of your shield as you progress through the game. You know that player who keeps camping until the end? Now he'll have to run along, or he'll see the spectator screen faster than a match loads on the Switch. There you have it, Respawn, one point for you.

Space Hunter Cosmetics: We never tire of being fashionable in the middle of a firefight

It wouldn't be an event of Apex Legends without the traditional ones 36 themed cosmetics that will make you spend hours playing (or throwing money at the screen). The cosmetics of Space Hunt have an intergalactic bounty hunter vibe. You know that look that says: “I'm a mercenary who hunts for fun, but always with a lot of style”? Well, that's what they want you to believe you'll pass on to other players as you desperately chase zones in the LTM.

And of course, as usual, you can count on some epic items like the skins of Havoc Rifle and the gun Prowlerbecause, yes, we love seeing the weapons look pretty while we don't hit a shot. Oh, and if you unlock all the items? Congratulations, you get some Milestone Rewards which, honestly, will only serve to remind you of how much time (or money) you invested in this event.

Now for the cherry on top: the new mythic melee item called Snake Bite. If you thought you already had enough melee weapons, here's another one for your collection. Because, obviously, what we need most in a shooter is a weapon to fight with, right? Nothing against the concept, but let's face it, this is the one weapon that most people will unlock, take a look at, and then continue to ignore while farming headshots with sniper rifles.

And to add an extra touch of “why not?” we also have the holographic “Red Ripper” kill counter and the Death Box Effect. Now when you die, at least you'll die in style, with that holographic glow that will make your opponent think, “Man, that guy spent a lot of money.”

Crypto and Wattson: Free Legends, but you have to sweat!

Not to say that we're just here to spend money, Respawn decided to give a little help to those who haven't unlocked all the Legends yet. During the event, you can complete weekly challenges to permanently unlock the Crypto and the Wattsontwo characters that, let's face it, are quite underestimated by the crowd. Of course, the challenges won't be easy, but hey, at least you can guarantee these Legends without having to spend coins, so that's a plus point here!

Oh, and as an extra reward, you can even win a epic level badge. Because, after all, we know that nothing motivates players more than Apex than those pretty badges you can display on your banner while your team waits for you to join the match.

Good old Duos mode is back (but for how long?)

And, so as not to leave fans feeling orphaned, Respawn brought back the beloved Duos mode. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the mode that makes you less dependent on an entire team of randoms is back for the rest of the season. Now you and your friend can coordinate amazing plays… or fail miserably together, which will probably happen more often than not. But hey, at least now the failures are shared with fewer people, right?

But let's be honest: how long will these events continue to run? As much as the new LTM is fun and the cosmetics are beautiful, it's still the same old loop. Run, capture, shoot, and unlock skins.
