Sowetan can confirm that Apple Music will today announce Shosha as the new host of Africa Now Radio – making her the first South African to secure a gig on Apple Music 1.
The platform that recently marked its first anniversary, is the global music and video streaming service’s first African music radio show.
Over the past year, Africa Now Radio was hosted by Nigeria’s DJ Cuppy and put the spotlight on African artists such as Davido, Nasty C, Tiwa Savage, Master KG, Burna Boy and Cassper Nyovest with exclusive interviews.

Shosha will continue showcasing African genres ranging from Amapiano, afrobeats, alte, house, bongo flava and kuduro to 165 countries across the globe.
“It’s a big moment and it means so much to be the first South African to host a show on Apple Radio Music 1,” Shosha said.
“To host a show that completely represents the continent that I was born in, that I grew up in, I think that is beautiful. I think it’s iconic and a big deal. So, I am incredibly elated.”
