Away from Flamengo, Gabigol will not be involved against Cuiabá

Still away from the red team, striker Gabigol will not be present on the field for the next Brasileirão match, this Wednesday (20), at 7pm against Cuiabá. The information that the striker will not be included in the clash at Arena Pantanal was released by journalist Venê Casagrande, and later confirmed by the club to the press.

Management remains firm

The player's removal was a decision taken in the final of the Copa do Brasil, due to acts of indiscipline during the break in the second half of the game. Coach Filipe Luís remained silent and later spoke out about whether or not to select the striker for one of the last matches of the Brazilian Championship. Although Gabigol continues with his regular training at Ninho do Urubu and is available, his absence on the field will be maintained in this round, and reviewed in the clash against Fortaleza, on November 26th, at Arena Castelão.

Lots of dialogue to clear up confusion

On Saturday (16), Gabigol and the club's football vice-president, Marcos Braz, resolved tensions in a meeting lasting less than an hour, at Ninho do Urubu. With the aim of reevaluating the path to be followed and actions to be taken, the atmosphere improved. According to findings from the GE group, the tone was mild and there was only a “good conversation”, indicating a rapprochement between Gabigol and the members of the team and the coaching staff itself.

In addition to the removal, another surprise shocked the Flamengo fans on the Sunday of the decision. The player announced live his departure from the club at the end of the match, after Flamengo beat Galo 1-0. Apparently, the striker could transfer to Cruzeiro next season.
