The band Arctic Monkeys announced a new album four years after the release of “Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino”. Titled “The Car”the new album will be released on October 21st this year. Recorded in studios in London and Paris and produced by James Ford, the project includes 10 new songs. The track “I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I Am” It was already presented to the public at a show in Switzerland last Tuesday (23). Alex Turner was once again responsible for the songwriting. The band released the album cover on their Twitter this Wednesday (24), a photo captured by drummer Matt Helders.

Helders had declared during the event DrumathonLIVE 2022, according to the magazine New Musical Express (NME), that the new production would follow the same musical line as “Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino”, using a calmer and less heavy approach compared to previous albums. On the other hand, vocalist and composer Alex Turner stated that the new album will be more similar to the style that Arctic Monkeys used at the beginning of their career. “You have to follow your instincts the same way you did at the beginning. In that sense, it feels like the record connects with us 20 years ago in the garage, when everything was pure instinct.” Big Issue website.
The band will be in Brazil with “The Car” for the Primavera Sound, which takes place in São Paulo between October 31st and November 6th. In addition to shows in Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba. The last time Arctic Monkeys were in the country was at the festival lollapalooza, in 2019.
