Bethesda’s Indiana Jones is exclusive to Xbox and PC

The game based on the Indiana Jones franchise and being developed by Bethesda will be released exclusively for Xbox and PC. Confirmation was given by Pete Hines, head of global publishing at Bethesda, during the hearing involving the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Microsoft, which is taking place today. Indiana Jones will also be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Announced in 2021, months before Microsoft finished buying ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion, the company that owns Bethesda Softworks, Indiana Jones is being developed by MachineGames, Bethesda’s studio currently responsible for the Wolfenstein franchise.
So far, it has not been revealed when the game will be released and on which platforms it will be available. But today, Hines was questioned as part of witness testimony at the FTC and Microsoft hearing, with FTC counsel revealing that Disney had an agreement to release the game on multiple consoles and that the agreement was amended following Bethesda’s acquisition by Bethesda. Microsoft to release it only for Xbox consoles.
It’s worth remembering that this is not exactly a surprise, since Microsoft also made Redfall and Starfield exclusive after the purchase of Bethesda. The FTC claims that this behavior can occur with Activision Blizzard games, including Call of Duty. Because of this, she has filed for an injunction to stop the purchase until her own administrative proceedings over it are completed.
