Black Pink releases teaser for the video “Shut Down”

On Tuesday, the 13th, the Korean quartet Black Pink released the teaser for the music video “Shut Down” which will be released on Friday, the 16th. The new track will be part of the group's new album, entitled Born Pink, which is also scheduled to be released this Friday.

The new album arrives after a 2-year wait from fans, THE ALBUM, the group's first full album was released in 2020 with partnerships with Selena Gomez and Cardi B.

The first single of this new era, “Pink Venom,” was released on August 19th and reached 4th place on Spotify’s global chart of most listened to songs. The quartet’s new album will be released without any partnerships, with 8 tracks. “Shut Down” is the track chosen as the lead single of the girls’ new work.

After the release of THE ALBUM, YG Entertainment, the company that manages Black Pink, focused on working on the solo debut of two members of the group. Rosé was the first to release solo work after the group's first album, she released the EP “R”, which contains two tracks, the lead single “On The Ground”, which reached position 70 on the Billboard Hot 100, and also the track “Gone”.

After Rosé debuted her solo career, it was Lisa's turn to release her solo EP entitled “LALISA” with a title track and the song “Money” which became a hit due to Tik Tok. Jennie's solo career debut already happened back in 2018 with the single “SOLO” and now Blinks, the name of Blackpink fans, is waiting for Jisoo's solo debut.
