Body of singer Agnaldo Rayol is laid to rest in São Paulo

On the morning of this Tuesday (5), the wake of singer Agnaldo Rayol took place in the Monumental Hall of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp). The gates were open to Rayol's fans, friends and family until 2pm and at 4pm he will be buried at the Gethsêmani Cemetery in Morumbi, São Paulo, in a ceremony restricted to those close to him and the press.

Death from a fall in the bathroom

Agnaldo Rayol died at the age of 86 after falling in the bathroom of his home in the Santana neighborhood, North Zone of the capital of São Paulo, this Monday (4). The artist had a large cut on his head and was taken to the hospital, but he did not survive due to a cardiorespiratory arrest.

The tragedy was confirmed by the singer's advisors, who posted a note of his death on his Instagram. The statement begins by deeply thanking friends and press professionals for their love. “Agnaldo Rayol leaves an invaluable legacy for Brazilian music, with a career that spanned decades and touched the hearts of millions of fans. The family is grateful for the expressions of affection and support.”ends the note.

Agnaldo's last moments

The Rio singer's goddaughter, Vanessa Gonçalves, gave an interview to Mais Você reporting what the moments were like after the accident. She said she lives in the same building as her godfather and was the first person to arrive at her apartment after receiving a call from her aunt reporting the fall. “We requested an ambulance, provided first aid, because we also have a caregiver at home, who helped”he said.

According to the CNN report, the ambulance took 40 minutes to arrive at Agnaldo's apartment, but, other than that, all the service was excellent. Vanessa reported in the interview that he arrived at the hospital apparently “good” and was conscious. However, his condition worsened and, unfortunately, he passed away.
