Brasilidade is rescued by the performance of artists in “Pra sem MPB” on Palco Mundo

An unprecedented meeting of great Brazilian MPB artists graced the Palco Mundo this Saturday night (21). It was a special moment to celebrate our music and inspire transformations that can contribute to building a better world.

Day dedicated to Brazil puts the country in front of the mirror

The iconic singer of “Secos e Molhados” opened the show, singing in a soft rhythm. “Poema”, “Balada do Louco” and “Pro Dia Naser Feliz” were the repertoire chosen by Ney Matogrosso. To the sound of these songs, a screen shaped like a Brazilian flag projected Brazilian images of fauna, flora, indigenous people and black people with their cultures, rivers, mares and fires, reminding us that the country is on fire.

“Heavy metal do sir”, “Proibida para mim” and “Telegrama” were presentations by Zeca Baleiro with his peculiar voice. Zeca called Gaby Amarantos, who entered with the Brazilian flag, in a super extravagant look. The woman from Pará, with her techno-cheesy style, reinforces the importance of female empowerment. The inclusion of minorities is gaining ground

Majur emphasized the importance of that moment. She could never have imagined that one day she would be on that stage, and highlighted the importance of not giving up on your dreams. While singing “Andarilho”, the audience turned on their cell phone flashlights, and what was seen was a starry sky in the audience. The artist also played the piano while singing “Amarelo”. Majur's art reflects a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. She became a point of inspiration in the fight for visibility and respect for trans people.

The group Baianasystem filled the rock city with the sound of drums, characteristic of Salvadoran music. The band is known for creating a unique and innovative mix of rhythms, reflecting the cultural diversity of Brazil.

One of the biggest interactions with the audience was made by Carlinhos Brown. Strolling through the universe of samba, linked to axé and representing MPB, the singer chose a very eclectic repertoire. He left “Seu Zé” and “Uma brasileira”, ending up in “I already know how to date”. He sang “Mineral Water” a cappella with the audience. The excitement was so much that it felt like carnival.

Daniela Mercury, who was the sensation of the night, entered after a pause, which broke the rhythm a little. She and the musicians were all dressed in white. The visuals and musical rhythm referred to the scene of African-based religions. The queen of axé sang unforgettable hits such as “Rapunzel”, “Maimbê dandá”, “Swing da cor”, “Nobre vagabundo”. When singing “Macunaíma”, Daniela recalled “Antropofagia”, a Brazilian artistic manifestation.

The proposal “Forever MPB”, exploring elements that make up Brazilian identity, was delivered. The singers brought to the stage songs that reflect the country's cultural and historical diversity. However, there was a lack of interaction between the artists. Only Majur and Gaby, Majur and Baianasystem sang together. There was a vacuum between Baianasystem and Carlinhos, and between Carlinhos and Daniela. Perhaps the problem was the delay on this penultimate day of the festival.
