British Eurovision singer spoke with André Kuipers for song about space,
The British Eurovision singer Sam Ryder recently had a meeting with astronaut André Kuipers. The TikTok star, who sings a song about space in the Eurovision Song Contest, found the Dutchman a very “inspiring” man.
“I sing at the Eurovision song contest about becoming an astronaut, something I dreamed of as a child,” said Ryder Thursday at a press conference after his first rehearsal in Turin. “There was a chance to meet a real astronaut so we thought, why not do it?”
Ryder, who was in the Netherlands last month for Eurovision in Concert, visited the European Space Agency ESA. “It was great and that’s where I met André.
It was so much fun to meet him and talk to him about his experiences. That gives a lot of inspiration, but André is also just a great man.”
The 32-year-old Ryder is with his song SPACE MAN already in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Great Britain belongs to the so-called Big 5 and is therefore already assured of a place in the final battle.
