Bruna Marquezine is not mentioned in new Neymar series produced by Netflix

Bruna Marquezine and Neymar are one of the most talked about couples on the internet, even though they haven't been together for four years. The fact that caught the attention of internet users this week was the information that the actress would not be mentioned in any part of the series about the player's life, even though Bruna was part of his story, with ups and downs, from 2012 to 2018. Neymar Jr's documentary series will be released on the 25th of this month and is called “Neymar: The Perfect Chaos.”

The series covers personal and professional aspects of the player's life from his childhood, but leaves out any kind of romance. Influencer Bruna Biancardi, who has been named as the singer's most recent fling since last year, is also out of the Netflix production.

The production director, David Charles Rodrigues, explains Bruna Marquezine's absence in the documentary and states that the actress's introduction into the plot would seem “forced”, as if it were a promotion based on her image. “What was very important to me was to capture what Neymar was experiencing at that moment, the 2019/2020 season, and to use moments from that year to tell his entire career. At that moment in his life, relationships were not part of the narrative, so there was no starting point to be able to talk about. It would have been very gratuitous to the narrative that I proposed for Bruna Marquezine to appear out of nowhere. It was not intentional, there was no restriction, it simply was not part of the narrative.”

David Charles Rodrigues also adds: “If it were another story, from another angle, if we were capturing Neymar getting married or having a new relationship, then it would make sense to show his past relationships. But in this case, it didn’t happen, it would have been very gratuitous, it had nothing to do with what we were telling about that moment in his life.”

According to sources, only two women appear in interviews in the series: His mother, Nadine Santos, and Gabriela Pozzi, who is part of his communications team. His sister, Rafaella Santos, does not give interviews and appears in few moments of the series.
