Bruna Marquezine is seen on the set of 'Blue Beetle', in the USA

Bruna Marquezine is in Atlanta, United States, to film the movie 'Blue Beetle', the latest addition to the DC universe. In a post on Instagram, the actress appears alongside Xolo Marideuña, the protagonist of the plot.

The image posted by Bruna through Stories shows her all-black look and her scene partner in a hero costume. Bruna and Xolo appeared tied to a structure with safety cables, indicating that the scene was an action scene, including being suspended from the ground.

After showing her character's appearance to her fans, the actress realized that the image could not have been posted and deleted her Stories. Internet users saved the image and it didn't take long for the actress's name to be trending on Twitter. In 2017, a similar situation occurred with the actor who plays Spider-Man, who accidentally shared the poster for “The Avengers: Infinity War” during an Instagram Live.

In the story, Bruna will play the feminist protagonist, Jenny, who is the romantic interest of Jaime Reyes, the secret identity of the Blue Beetle. The plot follows DC's first Latino protagonist, Reyes discovers an alien artifact buried in an abandoned lot when he returns from school. That same night, the beetle comes to life and gives him a mechanized exoskeleton and special powers. Soon after, he assumes the identity of the Blue Beetle. Also in the cast are actresses Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories) and Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise) and actors Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) and George Lopez (Saint George).

Written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Miss Bala), produced by John Rickard, it will be released in theaters on August 18, 2023.
