Bruno Mars pays tribute to Marília Mendonça during a show in Brasília

The American singer, Bruno Mars, paid tribute to the singer Marília Mendonça, in his performance this Sunday (27), at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília. Alongside his band, keyboardist John Fossett, played the song “Unfaithful” the country singer's biggest hit, while showing some images of Marília on the screen. The composer was the victim of a plane crash in 2021, at the age of 26.

This is not the first time that Fossett pays tribute to Brazilian artists, at the beginning of the tour, in São Paulo, he also performed the song “Full of Manias” by the group Raça Negra, and also last year, during The Town event he played the classic song “Evidence” by Chitãozinho and Xororó, influenced by the Brazilian guitarist, Mateus Asato, who is also part of the band.

Marília never hid her appreciation for Bruninho, as he is called in Brazil, the international artist's award went viral on the internet and some fans searched the Goiana's X (Old Twitter) profile, and found several tweets from her demonstrating all her love for the composer, a One of them was talking about her experience going to a show in 2017.

Furthermore, Marília already posted a cover on Instagram, in 2021, singing the song by “Versace On The Floor” from the studio album 24K Magic of the artist. In the caption of the publication, Mendonça said that Mars is his “greatest international idol”and that she felt very connected with the song, she revealed that she was afraid to release her voice in English, but in the end she decided to post it.

Bruno will also perform three more shows around the country, October 31st and November 1st, at the Couto Pereira Stadium, in Curitiba, and the last one on November 5th at the Mineirão Stadium, in Belo Horizonte.
