Bruninho's return

Bruno Mars, or “Bruninho”, as he is affectionately called in Brazil, marked his return to the Billboard Brasil Hot 100 charts. His song “Locked Out of Heaven”, from the album “Unorthodox Jukebox”, released in 2012, which became platinum record with more than 40 thousand copies sold. The song was present in the singer's last two performances in Brazil, which took place at The Town festival, in September last year.

In 2017, he brought the “24K Magic World Tour” to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo with shows at Praça da Apoteose and Estádio do Morumbi, respectively.

This will be the musician's fourth visit to Brazil and he has shows scheduled in October on the 8th, 9th, 12th and 13th in São Paulo, at the Morumbi Stadium, and on the 17th and 18th in Brasília, at the Mané Garrincha Stadium.

How the Billboard Brasil Hot 100 works

The Billboard Hot 100 is a marker that classifies the songs listened to around the world, and works both nationally and internationally. These positions are based on a weighted formula that helps incorporate official subscription-only streams and ad-assisted audio and video services. This list is updated every Tuesday with the most listened to songs from the previous week. In Brazil, for example, the first position of the week was the song “Digitando”, by Gustavo Moura and Rafael.

Deadlocks for shows in Rio

Even with the dates already announced, there is a controversy involving Rio's city hall and the producer that will hold Bruno Mars' shows in the city. According to the mayor, Eduardo Paes, the presentations scheduled for October 4th and 5th at the Nilton Santos Stadium would not have been authorized by the city hall. According to the politician, the event would hinder the movement of civil servants who would work at voting stations on the 6th, when the first round of municipal elections takes place. According to the mayor, even with prior notice, ticket sales were carried out in a manner considered “irresponsible”.

Live Nation, therefore, had to suspend the show on the 4th and postpone ticket sales until the 5th and Eduardo Paes said that the Hawaiian singer would be very welcome if he wanted to perform in the city on another date.
