Singer and songwriter Bruno Mars, owner of the hits “Locked Out of Heaven”, “Just the Way You Are”, among others, turns 38 this Sunday (08). Peter Gene Hernández, better known as Bruno Mars, was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, in a family with great musical traditions. In his teens, Bruno moved to Los Angeles with the desire to invest in his musical career.
Music career
In 2004, at the age of 19, the singer signed a contract with the record label Motown Records, however he was unable to produce any material. Making his experience negative, but allowing Bruno to meet big names in the musical universe who became references for his career.
In 2009, the composer signed a contract with Atlantic Records and made his first musical appearances, such as “Nothin' on You”, by rapper BoB, and “Billionaire”, by American singer Travie McCoy.
Successful launch
The appearances became a success and it didn't take long for the singer to release his own album, debuting the following year. In 2010, Bruno released “Doo-Woops & Holigans”, which features the singer's most famous hits such as “Just The Way You Are”, “Grenade”, “The Lazy Song”, “Count On Me” and “Talking to the Moon”, becoming the most successful and critically acclaimed album that earned the artist millions of copies in the United States.

From that moment on, his career took off, ensuring success on the music scene, becoming more evident in his second studio album, “Unorthodox Jukebox”, released in 2012, having one of the most iconic hits, “Locked Out of Heaven”, which after 10 years of release continued to be a success among the public. The album contains the single “When I Was Your Man”, being classified as the best pop solo performance at the 56th Grammy Awards.

In 2014, Mars collaborated with Mark Ronson on the single “Uptown Funk”, which dominated the music charts around the world. The composer's third album arrived in 2016, named “24K Magic”. The album accumulated a total of seven Grammy Awards, including the best and highest categories for album, recording and song of the year.

In 2021, Mars teamed up with artist Anderson Paak, and together they released a collaborative studio album “An Evening with Silk Sonic”. The album presented the best of R&B and soul from the 70s. It became one of the biggest hits with the single “Leave the Door Open”.
In Brazil
In September, Bruno performed over two days at The Town festival. After ending his participation in the event, the singer published a very special video thanking his Brazilian fans. The video contained references to funk with the classic phrase “eat to Brazil“, not only saying “I came”, but also leaving his “thank you” in Portuguese.
The São Paulo festival The Town took place on the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th and 10th of September in the city of São Paulo, and already has its second edition confirmed for 2025.
