Campaign for maternal mental health has actions in Curitiba
– how to remain healthy, health and wellbeing, latest symptoms and treatments.

If May is Mother's Month, it is also a time to raise awareness and expand the debate on maternal mental health. Therefore, the campaign May Furta-Cor: Maternal Mental Health Matters will promote actions in Curitiba to enable both discussions on the topic and the meeting and exchange of experiences between mothers. There will be conversations, a running training session and a party on different dates, starting on Saturday (11).

“We need to be aware that all tiredness, exhaustion, sleep deprivation and illness are not normal. We really aim to rescue and bring to the center of this debate the promotion of mental health for mothers, to show that they are also at the center of life and care for their health, remembering that health is much more than disease prevention”, says, in a note, Déborah Sanches, one of the coordinators of the Maio Furta-cor Campaign, psychologist and psychoanalyst.

She emphasizes that, for the World Health Organization (WHO, 2023), health is a state of comprehensive well-being. “That is why, in this month of May, we seek to strengthen support networks, form communities, promote meetings with other mothers, and develop care, support, and acceptance strategies that serve as a warning so that we can protect families, mothers, and the future generation, which are children.”
