The Canneseries Festival opened its doors on Friday, April 1, 2022. During the opening ceremony, two actresses received nice awards… There were beautiful people on the photocall of the event.

The red carpet is about to cover the steps of the Palais des Festivals. As tradition dictates, the month of May will be in cinema on the Côte-d’Azur side, with the organization of the Cannes International Film Festival.

But this 75th edition will not be the only event of the year since before adorning itself with red, the city opted for pink.

From April 1 to 6, 2022, it is the distant cousin of the competition, Canneseries, which illuminates the city with its multiple screenings and five-star guests.

For this fifth season, Fanny Herrero, at the origin of the series Ten Percent and Funny (Netflix), chairs the jury. The latter consists of Denis O’Hare, star of American Horror Story among others, Anne Marivin, Daniel Pemberton and the Icelandic-American Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.

To come and applaud the different episodes defended during Canneseries, the whole planet made the trip. Seen on the pink carpet were:

Gillian Anderson – Sex Education, The Crown -, Sydney Sweeney – Euphoria -, the singer Soprano, Lola Dewaere and Sara Mortensen d’Astrid and Raphaëlle, Hugo Becker – I promise you, Osmosis -, Olivier Barthelemy, Hélène Sémonin and her husband Franck Sémonin, François Feldman, Genie Godula and our former Minister of Culture Fleur Pellerin.

The festival has just opened, some awards have already been distributed. Coming to attend the event in a sublime black dress with a Prada neckline, Sydney Sweeney received the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award.

Gillian Anderson, whom the world has loved since she played Dana Scully in The X-Files in the 1990s, won the Variety Icon Award.

“I Googled the true meaning of an icon to see how I could relate to receiving this award,” she explained in her speech, her prize by hand.

And I have to say that I have actually embodied a lot of iconic women in my long career. Women who have broken down barriers through the decades and stood out both in our minds and in our hearts…”
