Caverna do Lobo and comet in Astronomical Images of the Week
– best Ai and Ai related updates, fresh and up to date Ai technologies and best Ai Opportunities near you!

Every week, on the afrilatest Espacial Program, we show two astronomical images that stood out from the past week. And last week, we presented two more images from a series in which we will show astrophotographs produced here in Brazil, by Brazilians. Check it out:

Wolf Cave Nebula

In the first image we have a beautiful record of a nebular complex located about 1400 light years away, towards the Cepheus constellation, a region extremely rich in astrophysical phenomena. In the center, VdB 152 stands out, a faint bluish reflection nebula at the edge of a dark molecular cloud, Barnard 175, known as the Wolf Cave Nebula. At the top left of the image is LDN 1221, a dark nebula that hides the light from background stars but is actively forming new stars within its dense core.

The second image is another fantastic record of the passage of Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. This time, the icy visitor was recorded on Italy's most famous volcano, Etna Volcano. Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, also called the “Comet of the Century” comes from the Oort cloud discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory at the beginning of last year and was eagerly awaited by the entire astronomical community. It was visible to the naked eye from the end of September to mid-October, and although it wasn't the brightest of the century, it put on a real show in the night sky, generating spectacular images of its only and memorable passage through the inner Solar System. .

APOD Brazil

The choices for this Week's Astronomical Images were made from the APOD Brasil website (a portal maintained by astronomers and photography enthusiasts, dedicated to promoting the beauties of the Cosmos. APOD Brasil aims to publish an astronomical photograph every day, publicizing the work of Brazilians, and other nationalities, committed to revealing the wonders of our Universe. Those interested in contributing to the APOD Brasil portal, and also to the Astronomical Images of Space Gaze Week, can do so using the form available on the website. :
