Céline Dion says she intends to return to the stage

After a two-year break in her musical career, singer and songwriter Céline Dion states, in a post on her official Instagram profile, that she plans to resume a musical project and return to the stage. The post was made this Friday, March 15th, a date recognized as International PRS Awareness Day — the same syndrome as the singer.

In the publication, the artist appears in a photo alongside her three children and talks about the time off and how she plans to return. Céline also took the opportunity to thank her fans for their love and encourage people diagnosed with PRS: “Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day return to the stage (…)” “I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world who have been affected by SPS. I want you to know that you can do it! We did it!” wrote the singer.

The surprise return

In February of this year, Céline appeared by surprise at the Grammy Awards ceremony to present the “Album of the Year” award. The singer's appearance gained notoriety and made the artist's fans and admirers happy to know that she was okay.

Since then, the artist has not published any more current photos until the 15th, when she announced her desire to return to the stage. Céline has not confirmed exactly which project she is working on, but the news that she intends to, and may, return is comforting for everyone who follows and admires her work.

The reason for the break

In 2022, the singer was diagnosed with SPR, which stands for Rigid Person Syndrome. First registered in 1956, SPR It is a rare and incurable condition, but one that can be treated, characterized by affecting the spine and brain. It causes excessive stimulation in the muscles, causing tension, muscle stiffness and spasms.

At the time, the singer had shows on her Courage World Tour scheduled and decided to postpone them. The artist was completely frank and made a video to apologize and explain the situation to her fans, through her private vision.

Céline's last project was the film “Love Again” for which she wrote five songs and released them during the year 2023. Since then, the artist's fans have been eagerly awaiting her return and, of course, the improvement of her health.
