Chanel Beauty gets new collection signed by Cometes Collective

In October 2022, Chanel Beauty announced the creation of the Cometes Collective, a new initiative that saw the French house adopt a “more pluralistic vision of beauty.” It did so by inviting a trio of emerging makeup artists from around the world, Ammy Drammeh, Cecile Paravina, and Valentina Li, to join the Chanel Beauty family and, in effect, lead its future. As the new guardians of Chanel Beauty, they have created their own collections.

To present the new products, the maison set up booths at its headquarters in New York, where small parallel universes were created to translate the inspiration of each of the creative directors.

Valentina Li

The Cometes collection launched by Valentina Li, which references the sea and recalls Gabrielle Chanel’s time spent along the beaches of Deauville, France. Anchored in color, the makeup collection embraces the allure of marine hues. Embracing color as a means of expression and a powerful means of embodying the complexity and richness of each individual, this season, Chanel Beauty takes color to new heights and deeper meanings with blue at the center of the collection.

Ammy Drammeh

Created by talented makeup artist Ammy Drammeh, this new line promises to transform our makeup routine into a magical adventure. Inspired by fairytale landscapes and mythical stories, she created a color palette that evokes fantastic gardens where nature takes on an air of fantastical glamour.

Cecile Paravina

Cécile Paravina's collection is still a secret, but the makeup artist revealed to the public that she explored one of Gabrielle Chanel's great passions throughout her career. During the process of creating the colors for this first collection, she says she had the opportunity to embrace her instincts and tastes that are not always so popular. The essence of a Chanel color is precisely the story it carries, which makes each shade created by the brand very special and unique. Therefore, there is room for us to experiment with different colors.
