Chaos Mutante is a box office success, grossing millions in its first weekend of release!

The animated feature “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem”, arrived in cinemas in some countries and has already grossed 51 million dollars in its first weekend of release, 43 million of which in the United States alone. The Paramount Pictures film in partnership with Nickelodeon was made entirely in CGI (computer graphics) and cost 70 million dollars. This means that it will soon pay for itself, considering its debut in only 30% of the international territory, with its release dates spread throughout the month depending on the country. In Brazil, for example, the film will only be available on the 31st of this month.

Synopsis

The animation will portray the adolescence of the brothers Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, four turtles who suffer mutations when exposed to a radioactive substance and are raised by Splinter, a mouse who suffered the same mutation and in addition to being a father, he also acts as mentor and martial arts teacher of the four. In the plot they try to deal with the difficult period of adolescence and the fact of being Ninja Turtles.

Opinions about the film

Although the film came in fourth place at the US box office due to high competition in theaters this month, the animation promises to be a success with its debut marked by a 96% approval rating from critics on the website Rotten Tomatoes and the achievement of a record for the franchise with an A CinemaScore rating. No other film in the franchise, including the live-action versions, has achieved this feat until now.

Another aspect that was widely commented on by those who watched was the soundtrack that features hip-hop from the 80s and 90s, mixing contemporary with the nostalgia of the public that has followed the Turtles' adventures since the beginning. Seth Rogen's script was also highly praised by critics. The film also features Jackie Chan dubbing Splinter.
