To get away from the basics in New Year's celebrations, combinations in the palette, using blocks of colors (“color blocking”), a technique that emerged in the 60s and flourished in the 80s, combining pieces of different tones, bring vibrant variations to the date. For example, the use of complementary colors, such as blue and orange and yellow and purple, are proposed combinations to celebrate a colorful New Year's Eve.

Among the variations that can be considered, complementary colors represent a solid combination, bringing opposite colors on the color wheel, such as pink and green. Analogous colors are also a possibility, these are in sequence on the circle, that is, they are close colors, such as pink and purple, blue and green and yellow and orange.

In addition to these, there are also triad colors, that is, combinations of colors that are equidistant on the color wheel, these are equally spaced. The classic red, blue and yellow is an example of this type of composition.

Celebrating the last day of the year has its own traditions for creating aesthetic combinations. White is a classic of the date, symbolizing peace, harmony and renewal for another year of life.
