At the 81st edition of the Venice International Film Festival, held in Italy, the red carpet stands out as one of the main attractions. Celebrities from all over the world parade along it, showing off their looks and launching new trends. With a variety of styles, from the most daring to the most discreet. The red carpet is the focus of the media, which watches closely to identify which styles are trending.

Rising trends

Here are four trends seen at the Italian festival:

• Cherry Cola Hair: A dark reddish-red shade that has been adopted by singer Dua Lipa and South Korean actress and model Jung Ho-yeon. Jung Ho-yeon opted for dark red highlights instead of coloring her entire hair. This choice creates a contrast between the reddish strands and her natural black hair.
• Wet Hair: Úrsula Corberó, Tokyo from “La Casa de Papel”, showed off her hair up with styled bangs and a wet look. This trend was also seen on the runways in Copenhagen and, in Brazil, at the Neriage show. Taylor Russell also adopted short hair with this wet effect.

• Voluminous Hair: Long hair is back in full force. After Miley Cyrus wore it at the Grammys and in the music video for “Doctor,” and Beyoncé in a campaign for hair care brand Cécred, model Eva Herzigova also showed off her voluminous locks. This more extravagant look brings back the sexy style.

• Semi-Matte Skin: Shiny skin is giving way to the matte effect. Using subtlety in specific points of the face, dry and subtle skin brings lightness and a more natural look.
