Universal Pictures released, this Friday (03), a new poster for the animation Super Mario Bros. The film. The feature film is an adaptation of the famous video game franchise initially launched in 1985 by game developer Nintendo, which has the same name. The game tells the story of a plumber named Mario, who faces several obstacles to save his beloved, Princess Peach. The official synopsis and the actors who will perform the Brazilian dubbing of the film have not yet been released.

Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, responsible for directing “Teen Titans Go!”, both the TV series and the cinema films, the animation will be produced by the studio Illumination, which also produced the animations Despicable Me and Minions. The script will be written by Matthew Fogel, known for his work on “Grandma… Zone 3: Like Father, Like Son” and “Minions 2: The Origin of Gru”.

The cast includes actor Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, A LEGO Adventure) as Mario; actress Anya Taylor-Joy (Emma, ​​The Queen's Gambit) as Princess Peach; Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, A LEGO Adventure) as Luigi; Jack Black (School of Rock, Jumanji) as the villain Bowser; Keegan-Michael Key (The Prom, Hotel Transylvania) as Toad; comedian Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live, Wandinha) as Cranky Kong; Kevin Michael Richardson (The Cleveland Show, Lilo & Stitch) as Kamek; fellow comedian Sebastian Maniscalco (The Irishman, Somewhere in Queens) as Spike and Seth Rogen (Neighbors, Steve Jobs) as Donkey Kong.

To the disappointment of fans, previously scheduled for March 30th this year, the premiere of “Super Mario Bros. The Movie” was postponed to April 6th, a week later than planned. The reason for the postponement was not explained. The feature film will only be available in theaters.
