In a raffle held in Luque, at the headquarters of the conmebolin Paraguay, this Wednesday (5), the confrontations of the playoffs and switching of Copa Sudamericana until the grand final, which will be held at the Centenario Stadium, in Montevideo, Uruguay, scheduled for October 28th.
New in the current edition of the championship, the clubs that were eliminated in third place in the group stage of the liberatorswill compete for playoffs of the Sudamericana against the runners-up of each group of the second most important continental competition. The knockout winners proceed, classified for the round of 16, already knowing who they will face.
The dates of the first games take place in the weeks of July 12th and 19th. Before the round of 16, check out the playoff matches and the defined opponents to qualify:
Sporting Cristal or Emelec x Defensa y Justicia;
patronage or Botafogo x Guarani-PAR;
Ñublense or Audax Italiano x LDU;
Independiente Medellin or San Lorenzo vs. São Paulo;
Barcelona Sporting Club or Estudiantes x Goias;
Corinthians or Universitario-PER v Newell’s Old Boys;
Club Libertad or Tigre x Strength;
Colo-Colo or America-MG x Red Bull Bragantino.

The round of 16 are scheduled for the weeks of August 2nd and 9th. Fortaleza, Goiás, Red Bull Bragantino and São Paulo are the Brazilians guaranteed in the next phase. The Brazilians can join them: América/MG, Botafogo and Corinthians, who will compete in the playoffs. O ‘Rabbit‘ It is ‘Glorious’ were second in their groups, while the ‘rudder‘ was eliminated early from Libertadores, but in the last round secured a place in Sudamericana.
Of the Brazilians who are in the Copa Sudamericana, only São Paulo won the title, in 2012, after beating Tigre, from Argentina, by 2 to 0. Goiás and Red Bull Bragantino reached the final, but ended up defeated. O ‘emerald‘ was defeated by Independiente in 2010, while the ‘Braga‘ recently lost against Athletico.
