Check out the path of the 11 teams at risk of relegation in the Brasileirão

With the Brasileirão final approaching, the teams' concerns about relegation increase. Currently in the competition, 11 teams are at risk of being relegated to series B, and the last placed team, Atlético-GO, no longer has a chance of remaining in the first division and is off the list for the next season of series A. In order to comparing the teams' trajectories, the ge group drew a comparison to understand the successes and failures of these 11 teams during the dispute.

In order to make a fair comparison, the difficulty index was defined as the score of the four opponents that each team will face.

Eleven paths, one goal

Analyzing by this criterion, Vitória is the team that will face the most obstacles on this path: it plays against three of the best placed, namely the leader Botafogo, Fortaleza, in third place and Flamengo, which is in fourth. Grêmio will also not have an easy time in the next rounds against São Paulo, Cruzeiro and Corinthians, respectively. On the other side of the coin, Vasco breathes a sigh of relief, catching the last two placed, Cuiabá and Atlético-GO.

The other opponents

To complete the table made by ge, starting from third place and the sum of the scores of the teams that will compete in the championship, we still have: Bragantino, with the sum of the teams with 186 points; Criciúma, 181; Atlético-MG, 179; Youth, 177; Fluminense, 173; Corinthians, 166; Cuiabá, 165; Athletico, 164; Vasco, 142.

There are still 40 games left for the final of the Brazilian Championship, 14 of which will be direct clashes between these teams trying to escape relegation. Most of them occur in the penultimate and final round. Corinthians, Vasco, Athletico, Fluminense, Criciúma and Cuiabá will have three of their four remaining matches against teams fighting to stay in series A.
