Leicester City ultimately failed to make it to the Champions League
Chelsea lost a fortune in the final week of the 2020/21 Premier League season. Even though they lost to Aston Villa at Villa Park, Sunday (23/5/2021), they still penetrated the Champions League.
In the duel against Villa, Chelsea was so overwhelmed. They have conceded on 43 minutes through the action of Bertrand Traore.
Chelsea languished when Anwar El Ghazi broke into Chelsea’s goal for the second time with a penalty.
There is also, Chelsea can reply just once through the action of Ben Chilwell in the 70th minute. Chelsea’s defeat was even more painful when Cesar Azpilicueta was red-carded in the 89th minute.
However, Chelsea was helped by Tottenham Hotspur who won over Leicester City. Showers of goals are presented at the King Power Stadium.

Unfortunately, Leicester conceded again in the 76th minute. This time, Kasper Schmeichel’s own goal made the Spurs level the score 2-2.
Schmeichel’s own goal was the turning point for the Spurs’ revival. Gareth Bale is the protagonist for The Lily Whites. He recorded a brace at critical times, 87 minutes and 90 + 6. For Bale’s two goals in that critical period, Spurs won 4-2.
With this situation, Leicester only finished fifth in the Premier League standings, collecting 66 points. Meanwhile, Chelsea are in fourth place in the final standings by one point ahead of Leicester, and are entitled to appear in the Champions League next season.
