Co-creator of The Last of Us reveals details of season 2 and confirms third!

Last Friday (14), the North American portal “Deadline” published an interview with the co-creator of the “The Last of Us” series, Craig Mazin. According to him, the development of the second season of the series is well underway, but he hopes that the writers' strike does not influence production deadlines: “We've come pretty far, in fact, we're doing really well. Neil (Neil Druckmann, also co-creator) and I have been sitting down with Helley Gross, who also worked on the second game as a writer.”

According to him, the team already knows the entire direction of the season. In fact, Mazin states that the first episode has already been written and delivered ahead of schedule. However, even though production is ahead of schedule, Mazin believes that the next deadlines could be postponed due to the strike: “We can't keep our start dates forever obviously”, said the screenwriter. “If the strike continues for a long time, we will inevitably have to postpone and that hurts us, the audience and HBO.”.

He hopes the strike will end soon, as he believes everyone wants to get back to work as soon as possible. The head of drama at HBOFrancesca Orsi, confirmed at the beginning of the year that the second season is scheduled to be released in 2025. However, this will depend on how the strike unfolds.

“The Last of Us” was another of the company’s recent successes. HBOalong with “Succession”, “House of The Dragon” and others. The company has stood out for launching only high-quality series that, subsequently, end up being highly awarded. “The Last Of Us” received 24 nominations Emmyan event that awards productions in series format. The series was the second most nominated for the award, behind only “Succession”, also from HBO, which received 27 nominations. THE Emmy will be held on September 28th and will be broadcast to Brazil.

Also in an interview with “Deadline”, Craig Mazin also confirmed that “The Last Of Us” will have a third season, with no premiere date yet.
