San Marinho had its recommendation upgraded, as the company's recommendation was raised in the stock market from “Neutral” to “Buy”, with a target price of R$35 by Bank of America. The reason for the change is the more favorable constructive moment in the ethanol and sugar sector due to the rise in short-term prices, in addition to the value of the Real and strong fundamentals.

Ethanol and sugar market may suffer from shortages

The sugar market is likely to remain balanced or experience a shortage of the product over the next 18 months. Lower ethanol production, combined with high demand for both items, will reduce stocks. According to Bank of America, the global sugar market is likely to have a deficit of 1.2 million tons between October 2024 and September 2025, due to a possible chance of non-growth in Brazilian and Indian production.
