Corinthians seeks to sign Hugo Souza before loan ends

Seeking to build a successful career at Corinthians and moving away from proposals from the City Group, goalkeeper Hugo Souza, 25 years old, born in Duque de Caxias, believes that negotiations between the clubs will move towards a four-season contract. Hugo, on loan from Flamengo to Corinthians until November 30, sees good prospects for the future.

If the purchase is not completed, but Corinthians is still interested in the goalkeeper, negotiations will need to be restarted from December 1st. Although this possibility exists, the São Paulo team believes that the situation will be resolved before the contract ends, with a new agreement being established. The total value of the negotiation reaches R$7.3 million, including R$1 million for the initial loan and R$1.5 million in fines for the three matches in which Hugo Souza played against Flamengo during the loan period. In addition, Corinthians will need to pay another R$4.8 million, corresponding to 50% of the athlete's economic rights, as established in the contract and agreed between the parties at the beginning of negotiations.

Corinthians remains confident in signing the athlete

At the beginning of October, Flamengo refused a first offer from Corinthians in relation to Hugo Souza, due to Brax being the guarantor of the negotiation. However, Corinthians guarantees that everything is guaranteed and that the negotiation will be completed before the loan contract ends. The president of the black and white club, Augusto Melo, stated that the situation has been resolved and that, in a matter of hours, or at most days, the proposal will be finalized before the contract expires. He also highlighted that everything that is being agreed is being carried out correctly, as stated by the Corinthians businessman and director on the club's social media.
