Court grants Habeas Corpus and restores freedom to Deolane Bezerra in money laundering case

On Monday morning (9), the Court of Justice of Pernambuco (TJPE) accepted the requests made by the defense and allowed the freedom of content producer Deolane Bezerra. The decision benefits only the wife of Darwin Henrique da Silva Filho, who is the businesswoman Maria Eduarda Filizola, who is currently the owner of Esporte da Sorte.

According to the Court of Justice of Pernambuco (TJPE), it cannot yet comment on the matter, because the case remains under judicial secrecy. The influencer and businesswoman was arrested last week during an operation that investigated an alleged money laundering scheme from gambling. According to lawyer Cesar Sales, who represents the gambling company, she was also investigated in the operation and so far the decision was made after a lack of definition about who should judge the Habeas Corpus.

Deolane Bezerra is still in the Women's Penal Colony in the Iputinga neighborhood, located in Recife, and the mother of influencer Solange Bezerra was not benefited by the decision. Deolane and Maria Eduarda Filizola were able to benefit through article 318 of the penal code and by a collective habeas corpus granted by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) in 2018, which states that preventive detention can be replaced by house arrest for pregnant women, people with disabilities, nursing mothers and mothers of children up to 12 years old. In addition to the habeas corpus, the family commented on trying to file a request to revoke the arrest still under analysis in court.

Since the influencer's arrest was decreed, a group of fans remained in front of the entrance to the prison unit to show support for the businesswoman who, shortly before 10 am, one of the sisters, Dayane Bezerra, who is also an influencer, posted a video on Instagram stories, which she commented on “My people, we are going to the prison gates. The decision has been made. Deolane has been released, but my mother has not. This is an unjust, arbitrary arrest. We need you there, whoever can go there. We will get Deolane out, but we need your strength more than ever to get my mother out of there.”Dayane recorded on her stories informing the news about the lawyer's release.
