Courteney Cox, Monica from “Friends”, is seen for the first time after the death of Matthew Perry

The 59-year-old actress and Matthew Perry's love interest in “Friends”, Courteney Cox, made her first appearance after the death of the character's interpreter Chandler. Matthew was found dead at the age of 54 in a jacuzzi at his home with signs of drowning last Saturday (28).

First appearance

Eternal Monica, Courteney was seen on Monday night (30) leaving a restaurant with her boyfriend, singer Johnny McDaid, 47 years old. After dinner, the actress was photographed inside her car, visibly shaken.

The actress has not yet made a personal announcement regarding the death of her friend and co-worker.

Friends' statements

A joint statement from Courteney, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer regarding the death of Matthew Perry was also released on Monday.

“We are all completely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just co-stars. We are a family”, said the stars of Friends to People.

And they added: “There is so much to say, but now let's take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. Over time we will say more, as and when we can. For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty's family, his friends and everyone who loved him around the world”.

A source told the website Page Six that the five actors also intend to make a public statement: “The cast is grieving the loss of their “brother” because that’s what Matty was — a brother to them. They are all close and are devastated, because they have been together through the best and worst moments of their lives.”.

The six actors worked together for 10 years on the series “Friends”, which was a worldwide phenomenon, and maintained a friendship that lasted almost 30 years.
