Covid-19 Vaccination
The CDC and the FDA released a blood clotting condition regarding the J&J vaccine case
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a joint statement on reports that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can trigger cerebral venous sinus thrombosis or a rare blood clotting condition that can turn off. According to their statement, there were a total of six cases, occurring among women aged between 18 and 48 years, with symptoms appearing 6 to 13 days after vaccination.
“For people who got the vaccine more than a month ago, their risk is very low right now. However, for people who have just had the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the last few weeks, they need to be vigilant,” the CDC said at their press conference.
Covid-19 Vaccination
To find out more about the symptoms that lead to rare blood clots after Covid-19 vaccination, the following is a description
1. Severe headache
The Michigan Center for Comprehensive Stroke explains that the most common symptom of Sinus Vein Thrombosis is a severe headache. These symptoms can occur suddenly, occur after several hours, or develop over several days. According to the FDA, pain in the abdominal area is one of the main symptoms to watch out for. The Michigan Comprehensive Stroke Center explains that another symptom of rare blood clots is pain in the legs or arms. Sufferers describe their legs and arms as numb or lethargic. 4. Shortness of breath Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing can be a sign you have a blood clot.
2. Abdominal pain3. Foot pain
What symptoms to worry about? CDC Deputy Managing Director Dr Anne Schuchat explained that blood clots usually occur at least about one week after vaccination and no more than three weeks after vaccination. After vaccination, if you experience flu symptoms it is still normal.
What must be addressed immediately is when you experience flu symptoms accompanied by severe headaches. The hospital must also give priority to people who experience these symptoms.
“If after being vaccinated you experience symptoms of blood clots, seek medical care immediately. Especially if your platelet count is low at that time, go to the emergency room immediately,” explained Anne.
