Danilo Gentili appeals after being ordered to pay compensation to Clau de Luca

Danilo Gentili was ordered to pay R$7,000 in compensation to PSL member Clau de Luca, but appealed the decision.

The SBT presenter said on Twitter, in August 2019, that he was sure that the boots (robots created to perform repetitive and automated tasks on the internet) and mavs (acronym for 'virtual attack militias') from the Bolsonarist wing were paid with party funds.

Clau and Gentili started an argument after the post and she went to court for moral damages, requesting compensation and a retraction from the presenter on the social network.

Judge Tais Helena Fiorini Barbosa ordered Gentili to pay compensation of R$7,000, delete the offensive publication and denied the request for retraction.

“The amount takes into account not only the inconvenience caused to the plaintiff and its social repercussions, but also the defendant's economic situation. On the other hand, I reject the request for retraction in the same space in which the offense was published, given that the removal of the offensive message is sufficient to cease the harmful effects of the publication and that the compensation set is sufficient to compensate for the non-pecuniary damages caused to the plaintiff.”the judge said in her ruling.

Clau's defense appealed the decision, which was upheld by the judge. Danilo Gentili also appealed.
