Day program World Athletics Championships

On the final day of the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, two Dutchmen will be in action: Nadine Visser in the 100 meter hurdles and Menno Vloon in the pole vault. If one of those two takes a medal, the Netherlands will improve a record.

The Dutch team is now on four medals (three times silver and one bronze) and that equals the record number of London in 2017 (once gold and three times bronze). It would therefore be extra special if the Netherlands takes another slice.

Visser is an outsider for a medal in the 100 meter hurdles, after she finished fifth at the Games in Tokyo last year. The Noord-Holland must first survive the semi-finals and then she will be in action later in the day in the final battle.

For Vloon, a medal is less realistic. The pole vaulter is in a World Cup final for the first time.

6.15 am: Women’s 35 kilometer race walk, final
6.35 pm: All-around men, 110 meter hurdles
7:30 pm: Men’s all-around, discus throw group A
8:40 pm: All-around men, discus throw group B
9:15 pm: Men’s all-around, pole vault group A
10:15 pm: Men’s all-around, pole vault group B

2.05 am: Women’s 100 meter hurdles, semifinals (Nadine Visser)
2.05 am: All-around men, javelin throw group A
2.25 am: Pole vault men, final (Menno Vloon)
2.50 am: Women’s long jump, final
3.05 am: 5,000 meters men, final
3.10 am: All-around men, javelin throw group B
3.35 am: 800 meters women, final
4.00 am: 100 meter hurdles women, final (possibly Nadine Visser )
4.20 am: Men’s all-around, 1,500 metres
4.35 hrs: men’s 4×400 metres relay, final
4.50 hrs: women’s 4×400 metres relay, final
