The series is based on the podcast Over My Dead Body about the ‘Tiger King’. Dennis Quaid gets a role in the series about Joe Exotic.
Quaid takes on the role of Rick Kirkham, the producer of Joe Exotic’s reality show, writes Deadline. The role of the ‘Tiger King’, whose real name is Joe Schreibvogel, is played by John Cameron Mitchell.
Kate McKinnon (Carole Baskin), Brian Van Holt (John Reinke), Nat Wolff (Travis Maldonado) and Sam Keeley (John Finlay) also make appearances in the series.
The story begins with Baskin, a great lover of ‘big cats’, who finds out that Joe exotic breeds and uses tigers to make a lot of money. She’s out to destroy his company.
It is not known when the series will be shown. On Netflix, the reality series Tiger King starring Joe Exotic was a big hit. It was also recently revealed that programme maker Louis Theroux works for the BBC, a special about Schreibvogel, which he visited ten years ago for an episode of his docu-series Louis Theroux: America’s Most Dangerous Pets.
Schreibvogel is now serving a hefty prison sentence for plotting a murder-for-hire and animal cruelty.
