Diego Maradona survival chances

Diego Maradona has received inadequate medical care and was suffering for a “prolonged period” before passing away on November 25 last year. According to a medical panel of twenty experts that investigated the death of the football icon Friday.

The folk hero died of a heart attack at the age of 60 years (25/11/2020), just weeks after undergoing brain surgery to remove a blood clot. Argentina’s prosecution had assembled a medical panel of experts to consider whether football great Diego Maradona had received proper treatment before his death or whether negligence had occurred.

In a 70 page document, the panel states that Maradona’s death trial began “at least twelve hours” before he was found dead in his bed. According to the panel, the Argentinian’s treatment was surrounded by “irregularities and shortcomings” and the treatment team left him to the fate despite chances of survival.

The experts also say Maradona could have had a better chance of survival with adequate treatment in an appropriate medical clinic. The football star died in a rented house in a chic neighborhood in Buenos Aires where he received home care. A few weeks earlier, he had undergone brain surgery to remove a blood clot.
